Hyper is a meeting recorder that uses AI to transcribe, summarize, and help you recall your conversations. We take your privacy seriously — your data is yours.
When you use Hyper, we collect:
Audio recordings — captured via your device's microphone during meetings you choose to record. Audio is streamed to our servers for transcription and then discarded. We do not store raw audio.
Transcripts and summaries — generated from your recordings and stored in your account so you can access them later.
Account information — your phone number and authentication credentials for sign-in.
Speech recognition data — processed on-device for wake word detection ("Hey Hyper"). This data never leaves your device.
We use your data to provide the core Hyper experience: transcription, summarization, AI-powered recall, and action item creation. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Hyper uses third-party AI services to provide its core features. Your data is shared with these services only as needed to deliver functionality, and is not used to train AI models. Each third-party provider is contractually required to protect your data with the same or equivalent safeguards described in this policy. We obtain your explicit consent before sharing any personal data with these services.
OpenAI — we stream audio to OpenAI's API for real-time transcription (speech-to-text) and text-to-speech. Transcripts are also sent for summarization, chat responses, and action item extraction. OpenAI Privacy Policy.
Anthropic — we send transcripts and chat messages to Anthropic's Claude API for summarization, action item extraction, conversational recall, and chat responses. Anthropic Privacy Policy.
Exa — when you ask the AI agent to search the internet, your search query is sent to Exa's search API. No meeting data is shared. Exa Privacy Policy.
Mixpanel — we collect anonymized usage analytics (e.g., feature usage, button taps) to improve Hyper. No meeting content or transcripts are sent to Mixpanel.
Sentry — we collect crash reports and error logs to fix bugs. These may include device information but not meeting content.
Firebase — we use Firebase for phone authentication.
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.
